Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport Unveils Art Collection Celebrating Bangladesh’s Artistic Heritage

Dhaka, 19 June 2026 — Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport transformed an ordinary afternoon into a thoughtful celebration of Bangladesh’s creative identity with the unveiling of its newly commissioned art collection in collaboration with Bhumi Gallery.

Hosted at CONNEXIONS, the gathering brought together members of the diplomatic community, business leaders, art enthusiasts and voices from the local creative landscape. The atmosphere encouraged conversations that moved naturally between culture, travel and identity, creating an experience that felt more like a cultural exchange than a formal unveiling.

Rather than treating art as a decorative element, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport has positioned the collection as a platform for artistic visibility. Developed in partnership with Bhumi Gallery, the initiative aims to create meaningful opportunities for Bangladeshi artists by introducing their work to an international audience that passes through the hospitality space every day.

Throughout the afternoon, guests explored the collection at their own pace, engaging directly with the artworks while enjoying a thoughtfully curated high tea experience. The setting encouraged open dialogue, allowing the pieces to become starting points for conversations around memory, place and craftsmanship.

Speaking about the initiative, Ashwani Nayar, Area General Manager, IHG Southwest Asia and Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka Airport, shared that the vision extended beyond displaying artwork. The intention, he noted, was to create a space where artists feel recognised and supported, while using hospitality as a natural bridge between local creativity and global audiences.

What distinguished the event was its understated and welcoming approach. Free from the formality often associated with gallery unveilings, the experience allowed guests to connect with the works in a more personal and organic way.

With Bhumi Gallery serving as cultural partner, the initiative reflects a growing interest in reimagining hospitality spaces as platforms for artistic expression. For many attendees, the collection offered an introduction to the depth, diversity and evolving language of contemporary Bangladeshi art.

As the evening concluded, it became clear that the collection is designed not simply to be viewed, but to become a living part of the Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport experience — quietly engaging and inspiring every visitor who walks through its doors.
