The Bangladeshi capital was abuzz with a fusion of global elegance and local artistry at the inaugural Apex Bangladesh Fashion Legacy Summit and Show 2024. Hosted by Bangladesh Fashion Legacy, this event aimed to bridge the gap between international fashion and the rich heritage of Bangladesh. It brought together fashion entrepreneurs, consumers, and enthusiasts for a vibrant exchange of ideas, creativity, and a commitment to preserving tradition.

The summit, organized by Shera Digital 360, kicked off at 5 PM, tackling contemporary fashion challenges. From the impact of social media on trends to the evolving landscape of fashion marketing, the discussions delved into pressing issues. The first panel, moderated by esteemed fashion expert Sheikh Saifur Rahman, featured international model Sovia Amin, Bangladeshi luxury brand Zurhem’s creative head Mehruz Munir, designer Asad Sattar of Arka Fashion Studio, and Apex’s Salman A Khan. Their conversation explored the generational divide in fashion and the challenges of integrating traditional heritage into modern retail and boutique brands.

The second panel, moderated by Tawhidur Rashid, focused on the entrepreneurial journey. Md. Raihan Kabir (Marketing In-charge, Apex), Dekko Isho Venture Capital’s Tarif Mohammed Khan, and Go Deshi founder Sabera Anwar discussed the hurdles and opportunities presented by social media in today’s retail world, offering valuable insights for aspiring designers. The final panel, led by Farhana Priti of Sajgoj, delved into the booming local beauty market. They discussed changing beauty perceptions fueled by social media, the rise of homegrown products, and innovative consumer engagement strategies.

Following the summit, the stage transformed for a dazzling fashion show. Apex showcased their Eid collections across their sub-brands – Moochie, Venturini, Nino Rossi, Maverick, and Jatarea – alongside their own all-season footwear line. This display of Bangladeshi design prowess was further enriched by renowned Indian

designers Asif Tajuddin Merchant and Mukesh Kumar Dubey, alongside established local names like Chaman Chowdhury, Sanaya Couture, Lusso Bella, and Anzara. The show concluded with a grand finale featuring esteemed actress Tasnia Farin.

Ashiqur Rahman, the founder of Bangladesh Fashion Legacy, expressed his vision of elevating Bangladeshi fashion through collaborations with international designers. This event, directed by Ashiqur Rahman himself, marked a significant step towards achieving that goal. With title sponsorship from Apex and organizational support from Shera Digital 360 (a sister concern of Shera International Group), the event triumphed.
