There are stories that begin quietly in childhood, in front of a mirror, watching someone transform with nothing more than brushes and confidence. For Mayesha Asmita, that moment was her mother. She watched her apply makeup with ease, grace, and a kind of softness that stayed with her long after. That gentle fascination became a lifelong desire to recreate beauty the way she first saw it at home.
Asmita’s academic path took her far from Brunel University to King’s College London. But even across continents, makeup never left her side. She trained at AOFM Makeup School London, later earning international certifications including CIBTAC. Her journey included learning under iconic brands like Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, Tom Ford, MAC, alongside airbrush specialization, eyebrow sculpting, HD eye techniques, and hair training from Wella, Keune and Kevin Joe Hair Academy. She also attended a masterclass by the visionary Meera Sakhrani.
Still, her greatest lesson was simpler passion takes you places degrees cannot.
Even after returning home with academic achievements, she followed her instinct and opened her first salon, a modest 1100 sq ft space in Gulshan 1. From that room, her journey began to unfold.
The sight of clients lining up outside the salon left her overwhelmed with gratitude proof that her dream had found its audience. She studied abroad, yet her heart led her back home. What started as a single studio has now grown into four prominent branches across Dhaka.
Along the way, she built more than mirrors and makeup chairs, she built experiences. She created spaces that reflect artistry, confidence, and a brand with a soul.
Her rise accelerated when Huda Beauty reposted her work a moment that validated her vision and amplified her presence. It gave her momentum to evolve further, grow bigger, dream bolder. And now, her dream has a new address one that feels like a page torn from cinema.

The newest milestone in her journey is the Glam by Asmita Signature Branch, designed by Penthouse Livings. This space is not just a salon, it is a world built on intention.
The palette is black and white classic, bold, uninterrupted. The space feels like stepping into a frame of old Hollywood, softened by modern minimalism. French-inspired arches curve across the interior, sculptural yet understated, creating a sense of elegance that breathes. The height, the play of shadows, the clean lines — all crafted to make beauty feel architectural.
Calm, cinematic, and timeless.
“I wanted to create a space that feels like a moment,” Asmita says.
“A place where clients walk in and feel something that soft gasp, that quiet pause,
that feeling of “I’venever seen anything like this.”
Every element is deliberate uncluttered, serene, and built to last. The kind of design that will look as stunning a decade later as it does today.

Asmita is celebrated for her approach to soft glam modern, detailed, and impossibly refined. She believes makeup should elevate, not erase.
“For this look, I wanted her to look back years later and still feel completely herself,” she shares.
“When brides see themselves in the mirror, the goal is for them to feel like the best version
of who they already are that’s what makes makeup timeless.”
She builds skin like an artist builds canvas seamless, fresh, real. Matte eyes, softly blushed cheeks, a peach-toned lip crowned with
Dior gloss — nothing loud, nothing forced. Just beauty, polished and breathable.

Timeless Modern Glam
For this look, I wanted to create something a bride could look back on years from now and still feel completely herself. My focus was on keeping the skin true to her natural tone which is very fresh, seamless, and authentic. I truly believe timeless makeup begins with skin that looks real, breathable, and perfectly matched. When a bride sees her reflection, she should feel like the most elevated version of who she already is, never masked or altered. That’s the heart of modern, timeless beauty.
The eyes were intentionally kept soft and matte. There’s something incredibly elegant about a matte eye as it never goes out of style. It subtly defines without overpowering, letting her features shine through with quiet confidence. This approach creates a look that photographs beautifully in every light and feels effortlessly sophisticated.
To complement the clean, true-to-skin base and understated eyes, I added softly blushed cheeks to bring life and warmth to the face. For the lips, I chose a peachy tone topped with my favourite Dior gloss, just the right amount of shine to keep the look modern and fresh without taking away from the softness of the glam.
Overall, this look is effortless, refined, and beautifully timeless.
It’s makeup that enhances rather than transforms, celebrates rather than conceals, and allows every bride to feel confident, radiant, and completely herself on her special day.
