Thai sensation Sarocha Chankimha, also known for Freen, lit up the gala with her effervescent presence. This multi-talented artist has been making waves across Asia as an actress, model, and singer, showcasing her versatility in the entertainment industry. Freen catapulted to international fame with her bold performance in the popular series  “Gap: The Series,” where her charismatic yet valiant portrayal won hearts and garnered a devoted fanbase.

Salma Abu Deif, an Egyptian actress and model, showcased her multifaceted skills by both producing and starring in “A Nose and Three Eyes,” which was featured at the 2023 Red Sea International Film Festival.

Saudi Arabian actress Adhwa Fahad was recognized for her compelling performances in “The Tambour of Retribution” and “Within Sand.”

Ramata Toulaye-Sy, a French-Senegalese filmmaker, made waves with her debut feature “Banel & Adama,” which was selected for the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.

Rounding out the group was Aseel Omran, a Saudi actress and singer known for her versatility in television and her collaborations with international music stars like Enrique Iglesias and Jason Derulo.

In an era where the call for gender parity in cinema has never been louder, the RSIFF is answering with action. This year’s “Women in Cinema” gala wasn’t merely a celebration; it was a declaration. By turning the spotlight on emerging female talent from across the globe, the festival is rewriting the script for women in film. From the sun-drenched streets of Mumbai to the bustling markets of Cairo, from the neon-lit avenues of Bangkok to the windswept dunes of Saudi Arabia, these women are crafting stories that resonate far beyond geographical boundaries.
